25. HARD WORK PAYS OFF

We return to Finchwick and the rest of the Drozd family. Summer is in full swing, but Klara and Akito get only little rest. Klara spends her time studying for exams or planning lectures, while Akito crafts and sells furniture and sculptures. His business on Plopsy is doing quite well. It seems like Piotr is the only one enjoying the summer, spending time at a theater camp or hanging out with his best friend, Filip Huntington.

Klara: Filip is coming back from camp today, and tomorrow is Piotr’s birthday. Time flies so fast—summer will be over before we know it.

Klara: Just a moment ago, they were little kids—do you remember their first steps? I can’t believe that in just a few days, Filip will officially start the second generation. I don’t know if I’m ready for this.

Akito: That’s just the way things go. Filip is practically an adult now, and we need to accept it.

Filip: Mom, Dad, I’m back! It’s good to be home!

Klara: You’ve grown up so much!

Piotr: You’re lucky—you made it just in time for my birthday. I’m almost as tall as you now! I hope you got me a cool present.

Akito: So, how was camp? Lots of training, I assume?

Filip: I’ll tell you about it later, Dad—I’m texting a friend right now.

Piotr’s Birthday (this time not forgotten!)

The party is held at a bowling alley.

Piotr: Awesome—we’re both becoming teens today!

Filip H.: Yeah, joint birthdays are cool. Even my brother and sister were invited!

Piotr and Filip have grown into teenagers.

Piotr now has the traits: Outgoing, Self-Absorbed, Carefree, Class Clown, Alluring, and Gregarious, with the teen aspiration Live Fast.

Piotr: Hey, check it out—those monkey bars actually worked! I lost my kid belly!

Filip: Come on, little bro, let’s snap a birthday selfie.

Filip: Monika? What are you doing here?

Monika: I’m Filip’s sister... I came for his birthday. And you’re Piotr’s brother?

Filip: Uh, yeah. Is that a problem?

Monika: Sorry, I don’t date my brothers’ friends.

Filip: But technically, I’m not friends with your brother.

Monika: Doesn’t matter.

It’s unclear who won the bowling game because the match lagged a bit, but it definitely wasn’t Klara or Piotr.

Klara: We have one more gift for you—a microphone, so you can practice your comedy and acting skills.

Piotr: Thanks, Mom!

Klara gets a call from Zoe.

Zoe: Hey, love! So, we’ve been thinking about trying for a baby. What do you think?

Klara: WHAT?? YES!! Go for it!

Zoe: Alright... well, I guess... yes! We’ll do it! Thanks for the advice. We’re having a baby!

Klara also has other exciting news.

Klara: You won’t believe it! My children’s book, Emotions Are Simtastic, has been nominated for an award! The winners will be announced on Sunday, and we’ve been invited to the gala in Del Sol Valley!

Akito: OMW! Wow! That’s an incredible way to end the summer! Oh, and I have something to share too... I’ve sold quite a bit of furniture lately, and... we can afford that house in Windenburg you liked so much.

Klara: This day just keeps getting better!

Moving Day

Klara: So many good memories... Are we sure we’ve packed everything?

Filip: Confirmed—all photos and keepsakes are safely stored in the family inventory.

Welcome to Windenburg!

Klara: Ah, it smells like modernity. A nice change from Finchwick. But we need to liven up this space with some family photos and souvenirs.

Klara: Much better.

Everyone has settled into the new home.

Now Klara and Akito go jogging together each evenings. Filip, on the other hand, had an odd encounter and is still wondering if something serious could have happened or if it was just a silly EA prank about meteor...

Klara: We finally managed to visit you! Oh my! Your son has already outgrown the bassinet! It feels like just yesterday you called us!

Nicolas: Oh yes, time flies. Maybe now it’s our turn to visit you in your new house!

Zoe: But we probably won’t manage. With little Antos, we barely have time for anything.

Klara: I know the feeling! If you want, we can watch him for you sometimes so you can do something for yourselves.

Zoe: Would you really do that for us?

Klara: Of course—Auntie Klara and Uncle Akito can handle it, right, Antos?

Nicolas: At least we skipped the infant phase. No teething to worry about!

Akito: But I guess we’re just in time for the midlife crisis!

The Last Weekend of Summer

The Drozd family spends it in Del Sol Valley, the city of stars.

Hotel Manager: Welcome to Ten Stars! I hope your loading screen was pleasant and full of useful tips. You are welcome to enjoy all the amenities our hotel offers: the gym, the pool, the bar, and of course, the chance to meet the biggest celebrities!

Before the big gala, the Drozds explore the city and check out the Walk of Stars.

Akito: The gala is starting soon—we’d better get into our formal outfits.

Klara: OH MY WATCHER, Dirk Dreamer! Can I have your autograph?? Aaaa!!! Thorne Bailey! I’m your biggest fan!

Akito: Don't worry, boys—let’s just keep moving. Mom will calm down soon.

Host: Thank you, Dirk, for that inspiring speech. And now, the next award in the Best Book category goes to... Klara Drozd!

Klara: Hello, everyone, and thank you so much for this honor. When I wrote Emotions Are Simtastic, I did it with my children in mind—I never thought about fame. But I’m glad this book, filled with good emotions, has reached a wider audience and is helping others as well...

Akito: I knew Mom would win this award.

Piotr: Yeah, Mom is the best!
