35. IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT WINNING

Bas continues tasks for the Grim Reaper. He's getting closer to growing a death flower, one of the ingredients in Ambrosia. In the meantime, he's also working on his aspiration.

Grandpa Filip helps, as promised, and in his free time he comes to graft the plants accordingly. Now it is time to wait for the pomegranate and orchid to grow so that they can be graft together and give the desired death flower.

Unfortunately, Laura still doesn't talk to Bastian. At school, it's not as bad as it is during the Science Club meetings. Since Arno had birthday and became a teen, Laura and Bas are the only members of the club, so the silence during the meetings is very tiring.

During this class, however, Bas has a special task. For some time now, a kid at school has been stealing his food. So it's time for a private revenge. This time, when the bully steals his food, he'll also learn the properties of a laxative. It's just a shame Bas can't brag about this plan to Laura.

Mr. Fly: Ready for the Fair tomorrow?

Bas: Yes, sir. The rocket works great. I've improved it a bit more.

Mr. Fly: I'll keep my fingers crossed!

And when kids sleep...

Maja: Well, well, that hot tub wasn't such a bad idea.

Jace: Yeah, it definitely heats things up.

Then they played out their own trailer for the new EP and took their relationship dynamic, satisfaction, and romance to a whole new level. These two are made for each other 🥰😀

The big day has arrived. Science Fair. Bas is showing off his rocket at the junior edition.

*And the Watcher already knows she needs to improve this event to make it more realistic ;) One day, one day...

Jury: Can you explain how it works?

Bass: Of course. The pressure from the water pushes the rocket up, and at the same time the parachute is pushed out, which opens fully in the air and safely lowers the rocket to the ground.

Jury: You've clearly thought this through. Good job.

Unfortunately, Laura seems to be having trouble with her project.

Bas: Hey, what's up? Have you presented your project yet? My demonstration went great, of course.

Laura: Yeah, of course. Sorry Bas, I don't have time right now. I'm not a privileged playable Sim, so I couldn't prepare my project at home.

Bas: Ok... I won't bother you anymore.

Laura: Exactly, don't bother me.

Bas: Well, anyway, good luck, may the best man win.

Laura: Yes, may the best man win.

As it turned out, Bas was better and won first prize. And he completed another aspiration (the third one). He's a good subject to test out new aspirations.

Bas: I can't wait for the next Fair!

Jace: Easy, champ, you just won your first.

Bas: But dad, I have so many ideas!

Maja: You definitely don't get it after me.

Bas: Just wait and see what I show at the next competition!

Maja: I'm proud of you, son. A beautiful award. But tell me, is everything okay between you and your friends? They haven't been here for a long time. And Laura looked irritated today.

Bas: Laura is a bit angry with me...

And Bastian told mom everything. About the Grim Reaper, about the tasks, summoning spirits, and the trip to the Realm of Magic. And of course about the argument with Laura too.

Bas: I don't know what to do now. She doesn't talk to me at all. And when she does, she argues with me.

Maja: And didn't you think that perhaps you could say sorry, to start with?

Bas: Actually... no, I didn't. I feel a bit stupid now. But will that be enough?

Maja: I don't know, but it's worth a try. And maybe an apology gift would be a good idea too.

Bas: A gift? But what could I give her?

Maja: I'm sure you'll think of something, you've known each other for so long. Think about what she might want?

Bas: I think I already have an idea.

Maja: Good night, Bas. Sleep well.

The last week of school went by pretty quickly. Everyone was already thinking about vacation.

Meanwhile, Bas was implementing a plan to reconcile with Laura. Specifically, he had to get her a present. He tried very hard. He even sacrificed himself by jumping into a garbage can, but no success so far. The vendor at the market didn't have what he needed either.

However, where there's a will, there's a way, and he finally found what he was looking for. And Barb agreed to exchange.

Last day of school.

Bas: Hey, do you have a minute?

Laura: I don't know, what do you want?

Bas: Actually, I wanted to apologize.

Laura: Oh yeah?

Laura: And why would I listen?

Bas: Cause we've always been friends. You're the only one in the pack who understands, why I like to learn, because you like to learn too. You're very smart. And you've all supported me. And I acted like a llama. Sorry.

Laura: True, that was very llame.

Bas: And I have something for you.

Laura: OMW! This is... Princess Cordelia's lost marble! Where did you find it? This was the only one missing in my collection!

Bas: I have my ways.

Laura: Okay, this gift is nice. Your apology too. And I am sorry as well. I guess I acted like a llama too.

Bas: Friends?

Laura: Friends.

Laura: We're going to see that new movie at the cinema today after school. Are you coming with us?

Bas: Peter Barker? Sure! I love all the books and movies!

The rest of the day, Bas was quite distracted. Even the teachers noticed in the daily report. But it was the last day of school, so it didn't matter anymore. At least as far as grades were concerned.

San Sequoia Neighboorhood Gang has just finished elementary school!

And after the classes, the last match of marbles. Paul was unhappy again. And Laura probably completed her aspiration.

And of course the cinema together. Peter Barker's Home Alone. Everyone enjoyed it.
