11. PREPARATIONS

The New Year started off pretty well. After returning to work, Filip got promoted to Ocean Observer. Finally, fieldwork and no more endless hours in front of a computer!

Ecologist: Just don’t scare off all the frogs with that spray! You’ll ruin a year of my work on rare species! Ugh, these newbies—couldn’t they get some training before being let loose?



Meanwhile, at home, Maja is discovering new bursts of energy and interests.

Maja: Yy? Fishy?



Filip: Hi, Pumpkin, how was your day?

Maja: Bam bam fishy!

Filip: I’m not sure I even want to know what that means. Let’s go find Mama and grab some food—Daddy’s starving.



Anna: How’s the new job treating you?

Filip: Fantastic! I’m finally focusing on what I’ve always wanted.

Anna: That’s great! Oh, by the way, I scheduled a cake tasting and flower selection for tomorrow. We’ll need to leave for Tartosa early in the morning to make it in time.

Filip: Early morning? Tartosa?

Anna: Don’t act so surprised. They have the best cakes in the Sim world!



The next day, they arrived in Tartosa around noon.

Anna: Maja, wait here for a moment. Good morning, we’re here for a cake tasting.

Shopkeeper: We don’t really do formal tastings here. Just order whichever slices of cake catch your interest.

Filip: That heart-shaped one looks cool!

Anna: Omnomnom.

Filip: Haha, I think we’ve found our winner.



Filip: All right, I’m stuffed and ready for the next stop on the wedding shopping tour!

Anna: Too bad Maja couldn’t try the cake. It’s silly that they don’t have options for toddlers.



Filip: Good afternoon, we’re here to pick out wedding flowers.

Shopkeeper: Filip Drozd? I’m Bella, Kazik’s wife!

Filip: What a surprise! This is my fiancée, Anna. Anna, meet Bella, wife of my best friend from my high school days—though we’ve never met until now.

Bella: So, what are you two looking for today? I’ve got everything!



Filip: And this little one is our daughter, Maja. We skipped New Year’s because she was celebrating her first birthday.

Maja: Peekaboo!

Bella: What a little star!



Anna: Since we’re here, let’s explore the town a bit. It’s so beautiful!



Anna: Wow, this is stunning! I want a picture here too!



Unfortunately, the weather took a sudden turn for the worse.

Anna: I can’t believe all the food stands are closed! And no restaurants in Tartosa to wait out the rain?

Maja: Scared. Maja scared...

Anna: Don’t worry, Maja, we’re heading home now.



Filip: So, what’s the plan for today?

Anna: Wow, why the good mood? Did the Watcher use cheats to make you happy? Today, we need to pick a wedding venue. Look, I’ve browsed the Gallery, and these caught my eye. What do you think?

Filip: They’re all nice—this is such a tough choice.

Anna: Thanks for agreeing to watch Maja for us.

Oliana: Oh, it’s nothing! We’re happy to do it. Maja, we’ll have so much fun today building a giant sandcastle.

Leila: Go on now, we’ve got this covered.



Anna and Filip went to visit the selected wedding venue.

Anna: The table layout looks good; the guests should have no trouble finding their seats...

...and the bathroom works too.

Filip: There’s plenty of room for dancing! May I have this dance?



Anna: This is it—this is our place! I can feel it! 

Filip: Yeah! My Wedding Stories can go suck a lemon! This wedding will be perfect, and people will talk about it for generations!



Later, Filip and Anna had one more stop to make.

Filip: Hey, bro, what’s up? Mind if we borrow some warmer clothes for a bit?

Piotr: What, did you forget it’s winter everywhere outside of Sulani? Haha.

Anna: You’ve decorated beautifully—so colorful and modern. But maybe a thermostat would help, so we don’t have to sit in coats, hehe.

Piotr: You know, bro, I’m really starting to like your fiancée!



Filip: I’d like to ask you to be my best man. What do you say?

Piotr: Are you serious?

Filip: Dead serious.

Piotr: Of course! Bring it in for another hug!



Anna: While they’re catching up, I wanted to invite you to my bachelorette party. Live Sulani music, Lotta Cocolata—are you in?

Piotr: Did you hear what they’re planning?



Filip: I hope you’re planning an awesome bachelor party for me as my best man.

Anna: Just no strippers!

Piotr: Relax. As far as I know, we don’t have that mod installed... but there’s still time for the Watcher to add it.



Anna: You know, Pumpkin, today was busy. Mommy and Daddy chose the wedding venue and planned most of the big details.

Filip: And tomorrow, you’ll spend most of the day with Daddy while Mommy goes shopping with Auntie.

Maja: Daddy?

Filip: That’s right! And we’ll play whatever you want!

Maja: Hmm...



Anna: Hi, sis, thanks for making time for me.

Dorota: Hey, when your baby sister is getting married, you step up! So, what are we looking for?

Anna: Something delicate, nothing too flashy—classic and elegant.



Anna: This one’s pretty nice. But maybe it’s a bit much?

Dorota: It looks stunning on you! Let’s try the next one.

Anna: Really?

Dorota: No, I don’t think this one’s for you.



Anna: This is perfect.

Salesperson: It’s by designer Alin2. Excellent choice. Shall I wrap it up?



Anna: I also wanted to ask—will you be my maid of honor?

Dorota: Of course! I was starting to think you wouldn’t ask. And now, let’s go—surprise spa time for some relaxation.

Anna: Oh, that sounds amazing. This cold day in Windenburg really wore me out.

Dorota: Someone’s gotten too used to island life!

Chronicles of Del Sol Valley Izi's parents decided to take a break from the hustle of an ordinary city and went to an extraordinary city, full of celebrities on every corner.
