2. WELCOME TO PARADISE
Filip, being a nature lover, adores working outdoors. And after work, it's time to explore the area.
Filip: I'll have a local specialty, please.
Vendor: Everything here is local! Here, try the kalua pork. You'll love it.
Stranger: Oh no, another tourist...
Filip: I'm not a tourist. I just moved into Pier Perfection yesterday. I'm Filip Drozd.
Stranger: Pier Perfection? We're neighbors then! Oliana Ngata, welina mai iā Sulani! Welcome to Sulani!
Filip: Any drink you'd recommend here?
Oliana: Try the coquito, but careful—it's strong here!
Filip: Is this drink really that strong, or are those bears actually sitting next to me? Oh well, whatever.
The next day, Oliana stopped by for a visit.
Oliana: Aloha e kuʻu hoa, hello friend! Today in Ohan'ali, there's the Sulani Music and Flower Festival. You must experience it!
Filip: Sounds great! Let's go!
Filip: Why don't you officially announce Sulani festivals? Everyone would love to join.
Oliana: That's the problem. Sulani is flooded with tourists, littered, and neglected.
Sulani Local: We're trying to protect what's left of our culture and environment.
Filip: Ehh... I haven't noticed it being that bad. Maybe you're exaggerating a bit.
Sulani Local: Oliana, who is this naaupo? Why did you bring him here?
Filip decided to ignore the unfamiliar comment and just enjoy himself. Turns out, fire dancing isn't that hard!
Oliana: Hey, you're pretty good! If you weren't such a naaupo, I'd think you were Sulani-born!
Filip: Will you stop calling me a nut pot?
Oliana: Naaupo means ignorant, but close enough!
Before bed, a swim in the ocean is perfect, followed by some tortellini from Mom. Sweet Mom packed him enough for a whole Sim month!
The next day brought more island exploration. Filip combed the beach and found some seashells, but unfortunately, that wasn't all he found. Oliana might have been right after all.
Filip: Thanks so much for inviting me.
Leila: Oliana's friends are my friends. We've already set up the firepit; soon, you'll taste an authentic island veggie feast.
Filip: OMW, this is amazing.
Tane: So, you're the white naaupo Oliana mentioned?
Leila: Tane!
Tane: What? That's what she said!
Filip: Well, she's kind of right. I now understand what you meant about the trash. It does look bad. Can't anything be done?
Oliana: We're all fighting for this place, but alone we can't do much. Laws and attitudes need to change.
Leila: At least the eco-activists don't give up.
Filip got a promotion and realized he's a perfectionist. And the day wasn't over yet, with the Sulani Feast still happening at Ohan'ali, giving Filip a chance to try real Sulani kava.
Stranger: Aloha! I think I recognize you from work! How are you liking the island?
Filip: It's beautiful, and your festivals are amazing. It's wonderful being part of your community.
Kazik: Yoo-hoo, anyone home?
Filip: Whoa, dude! What are you doing here?
Kazik: Thought, why not jump into the loading screen and visit a friend? Cool house, man.
Filip: Come on, I'll show you around.
The guys chilled most of the day, reminiscing about school, until Filip had to head to work (why does a Diver only work evenings, though?).
The next day brought another visitor—Anna, arriving for Love Day.
Filip: I missed you.
Anna: And just a cheek kiss?
Filip: Better now?
The lovebirds enjoyed the island's beauty all day.
Waitress: Aloha! What can I get you?
Anna: I'll have the shrimp cocktail.
Filip: And lobster for me. So, did you hear back from the university?
Anna: Yes! I got into the distinguished Art History program at Britechester University!
Filip: Just like you wanted! Congrats!
Filip: I have one more surprise today. Though it was supposed to be a romantic beach walk, the rain ruined my plan... You know, I've had a crush on you since elementary school. We drifted apart for a while, but I'm glad we found each other again. I love you, Anna, and I want our paths to stay together. I hope you want the same.
Anna: OMW, yes, YES! I love you too!
After a romantic evening and night, the couple visited Mua Pel'am in the morning. But aside from stunning views, they saw other things too.
Filip: Look, Oliana was right. The whole beach looks like this. We need to clean it up.
Anna: The water's polluted too.
Filip: This area looks bad too. Must be toxic waste.
Anna: Ugh... Such a shame for a beautiful place.
Still, they had a wonderful weekend and gained plenty of new photos for the wall :D
Anna had to leave, but Filip made one more important decision that weekend—he applied for university. He finally knows what he wants to do in life.
