8. SEA TALES (3)

Mako Island

Filip: I think it's here.

Nalani: I was waiting for you.

Filip briefly told Nalani about the situation. She revealed that she already received the news and managed to ask the dolphins for help.

Nalani: They should know something by now, wait here while I check.

Nalani: It's worse than I thought! Your daughter is in danger. She was tricked by 3 sisters, mermaids who are under a Voodoo curse. They live in Losts Haven and have been trying to lift the curse for years. They believe they need to drink the essence of a newly transformed mermaid to lift the curse. They have already turned her into mermaid and prepared the ritual! Your daughter thinks it's a mermaid initiation ritual, but if she eats the cake, cowplant will devour her! All that will be left is her essence! We must save her immediately!

Meanwhile, the ritual has begun in the Lost Haven. Bea seems to have some doubts. But she is soon enchanted by a wild dance of fire.

Maira: O Mighty Goddess! Accept our fiery dance as a gift to you! This is the element of Fire!

Maira: Sisters, let us now drink from this bowl together as a sign of unity! This is the element of Water!

Finally, a siren lullaby and a kiss to seal the element of Wind.

Maira: It's almost over. To summon the element of Earth and complete the circle of elements, all you need to do is eat the cake.

Mermaids: Join us! Join us! Join us!

Bea: Oh Goddess, let me eat this cake now and join my mermaid sisters.

But when the ritual almost reached its end, suddenly someone dared to interrupt it. 

Filip: Stop! Bea, don't eat the cake, IT'S A TRAP!

Anna: Leave my daughter alone!!!

Viviane: I don't believe it!

Maira: What the...?

Bea: Mom? Dad? What are you doing here?

Nalani: We made it just in time! By the power of the spirits of the islands, I summon you, Elementals! Ancestors, save this girl and punish the mermaids who wanted to sacrifice her!

Elemental: Let it be the justice.

Maira: What is this??

Viviane: It doesn't look good.

Maira: We should probably get out of here!

Viviane: What about the curse?

Maira: Another time.

Anna: Is it over?

Bea: Mom? I... 

Anna: Come here, OMW, it's good that we made it, I was so scared.

Bea: Dad... I'm sorry I ran away.

Filip: You're here, that's the most important.

Maja: Bea, it's my fault, I was a bad sister!

Bea: No, I was a bad sister, I'm sorry!

Maja: No, I'm sorry!

Bea: What... what's going to happen to me now?

Nalani: Unfortunately, it's long after sunset, you will be a mermaid forever.

Filip: And there's really no way?

Nalani: There's no turning back now. But if you want, I can teach you everything I know about being a mermaid. And I know everything, basically. 

Bea: That's... a good idea, I think. I'd really appreciate your help.

Nalani: There's one more thing left. Come here, you big bad Cowplant. 

Nalani: I'll give you a form that won't hurt anyone anymore. And from now on, it will be Survivors' Haven.

Anna's mid-life crisis is fully over. After recent events she won't miss adrenaline for a LONG time. All that remains for her is to enjoy nature, her new passion, and combine it with her old passion, art.

Anna: Oh, mom, if you could see what a wonderful girl she has grown into. A bit lost, but the worst is behind us. Being a mermaid serves her well, I've never seen her so happy.

Bea and Maja rebuild their relationship, or at least they try. Sunshine helps.

Maja: So what else can you do as a mermaid?

Bea: I can change the weather, or evoke different emotions with siren lullabies. I can summon a sea monster! And...it's a bit scary, but with my siren song I can drag someone to the bottom of the ocean and drain their life, but without killing!

The end of summer means Simland Day.

Filip: Dear friends, here we meet again on Simland Day, united even more than after rescuing the island from the Laurents. This time we are celebrating finding my beloved daughter and finding new friends from the depths of the ocean. Cheers to you, my friends!

Bea is looking forward to lessons with Nalani. Somehow she feels this is only the beginning of the island's secrets. Who knows what surprises await her. Perhaps the Watcher will allow her side story to shine again.
