4. SUN, OCEAN, AND KAVA

Filip has started his semester at Sulani Research Institute. His days are now filled with preparing presentations, studying, attending classes, and working as a scuba diver. Despite his busy schedule, he still finds time every day to chat with Anna and relax in the ocean.

As part of the Sulani Preservation initiative, Filip founded a group that cleans up the beaches during their free time. Sometimes, he also takes on odd jobs—most recently, he was catching rare frogs by the waterfall in Mua Pel'am. All this helps him complete the collection and work toward finishing his aspiration.

Filip: Excuse me, are you a real Conservationist?

Conservationist: Indeed!

Filip: Could you give me some tips on how I can boost my chances of becoming a Conservationist? I’ve started studying Biology to deepen my knowledge.

Conservationist: Studying is a great start. Once you're about to graduate, reach out to me. I’m sure we can find an opening for you.

Besides his environmental work, Filip has also become active in the local community. He started by opposing stupid neighborhood action plans.

Filip: "Roughhousing Encouraged?" Who even came up with that? Sulani Sims are the friendliest Sims under the sun! If you agree, sign this petition. There are so many better plans we could put in place to make life here even better!

Filip: Thank the Watcher it’s the weekend. It’s so good to see you—I missed you.

Anna: I missed you too. Listen, I can’t stop thinking about this and I have to ask… would you consider moving in with me in Britechester? This long-distance thing is hard.

Filip: Sweetheart, you know I can’t right now. I have my job and studies here... I’d love to live with you, but I think we need to give it more time.

Filip: I’m sorry, I know that’s not what you wanted to hear… But I’m sure we’ll figure this out after I graduate.

Anna: That’s still at least three Sim weeks, you know that, right?

Oliana: Aloha, friends! You must be Anna, nice to meet you! Why the long faces?

Anna: Long faces? Noo… not at all. Nice to meet you too.

Oliana: You know what? Come with me. There’s a fishing competition in Ohan'ali. It'll lift your spirits!

Filip: One bait, please.

Anna: This is supposed to be fun? Wow... how exciting…

Filip: Hey, I caught something!

Anna: I think I did too… A log?! Simtastic...

Filip: Got another fish!

Anna: Filip, I caught another log. There aren’t even any prizes! Let’s go from here, please!

The rest of the day was nicer, although the cool weather wasn’t ideal for sunbathing.

Filip: Maybe after I graduate, we could live here together? We could have a truly island paradise life. Please think about it.

The next day, the weather was perfect for lazy beach lounging.

Sadly, the weekend ended. Anna returned to Britechester, and Filip took on a few more odd jobs to boost his funds. He even learned how to prepare the famous local kava.

During Sulani’s island festival, he tried fish stew and got to watch a live performance by none other than Thorne Bailey!

Days passed again with studying, working, and completing his seashell collection. And since the Watcher is craving a vacation, let’s run around Sulani with Filip and pay tribute to the most beautiful Sims world.

This time, different guests came for the weekend.

Filip: Dad, you’re going grey!

Akito: Well, it’s those years creeping up, but I’m still holding strong.

Klara: It’s beautiful here. You’ve really made it cozy. But I need to cook you some fresh meals—this stuff’s been sitting in the fridge forever.

Filip: Here’s the plan: you two sleep in my room, and I’ll crash on the couch.

That evening, a double celebration took place—a kava party and Klara’s birthday. Everyone was gathered.

Everyone: Happy birthday to you! May you live long and prosper…

Filip: A toast to our beloved mother, the founder of the Drozd legacy!

Klara: Simtastic, my joints are creaking already.

Oliana: This kava turned out great! And I see you finally bought a Sulani outfit.

Klara: Piotr, will I live enough to meet your girlfriend?

Piotrek: Uh…

Filip: Oh, Mom, stop teasing him. Come on, we’ve got a gift for you.

They ended the night with a bonfire.

Akito: I guess we have to admit that his diving job and move to Sulani wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Klara: True, his legacy is shaping up nicely—but I won’t tell him that until he finishes his studies.

Anna: You know, I’m starting to warm up to the idea of living here permanently.
