8. THE FAMILY IN FULL SWING

The Spooky Day has arrived, and the first trick-or-treaters are here!

Anna: Here you go, a candy for you.

Filip: What’s that stain?

Kid: A stain? Hey! If there’s no candy, I’m supposed to play a trick, not you, Mister!

Filip is finding his stride as a dad — even dirty diapers don’t faze him.

Meanwhile, the family gathered to celebrate Spooky Day.

Filip: Good thing I changed costumes, little brother, or we’d both be dressed the same!

Piotr: Doesn’t matter — I always look better in everything anyway!

Piotr: Yuki! You came! You look amazing. Come meet my parents.

Akito: Nice to meet Piotr’s girlfriend.

Klara: Yuki and I have already met. I think she’s lovely. You two are a great match.

Piotr: I’ve got an idea. I know it’s soon, but why wait? You never know what might happen in this game, and I might start getting played less often. Yuki Behr, will you marry me?

Yuki: OMW! Yes, of course!

Ania: Come on, sweetie, it’s time for your birthday—time to age up into an infant!

Klara: Such a big girl already. Can I hold her?

Anna: I don’t think she’s used to it; I’m the one who usually takes care of her.

Klara: Mommy’s the best, huh?

Anna: What a day full of excitement, right, little one? Oh dear, I think it’s time to change your diaper. Poor thing with those tummy troubles. EA didn’t even add a tummy massage option or a warm compress to help you. You really won’t let me put you down, huh? Oh well…

Maja: A-gu!

Ania: What a perfect moment for your first coo!

Tonight, Filip takes over bedtime duty for Maja.

Filip: She’s asleep!

Anna: So… does this mean we can really…?

Filip: YES! Let’s go before she wakes up! We’re finally getting some sleep!

Maja is an early riser, so Filip was up at dawn.

Today was packed with milestones! Maja can now grab toys (though she can’t quite reach them yet), put her toes in her mouth, and even roll over onto her tummy!

Anna is also trying to get back into shape after the pregnancy.

Another milestone unlocked—Maja can now sit up! She seemed unsure at first, but once she realized she could reach her toys, she was delighted.

Today was graduation day at the Sulani Research Institute. After some coordination with the University of Britechester, Anna was able to collect her diploma here as well.

Filip: Mr. Ecologist! Great to see you.

Ecologist: Call me Loario. I see you’ve graduated—that’s perfect timing. Let me check… Yes! We’ve got a spot open for an Environmental Technician. Come by on Monday, and I’ll show you the ropes.

Filip graduated with honors in Biology (a distinguished major, naturally).

Anna: We’re back! How’s Maja?

Klara: She’s doing great — you’ve got a very clever little one.

Anna: Oh, sweetie, come here to Mommy. I missed you so much!

Klara: You two must be exhausted. If you want, I can put Maja to bed while you and Filip freshen up after the ceremony.

Filip: Dad, could you do me a favor? Could you install a mobile over Maja’s crib? I don’t have any handiness skills, and this requires Level 2.

Akito: No problem. But, you know, son, you should try doing some handiwork around the house from time to time. A little technical knowledge can go a long way.

Filip: Okay… I’ll give it a shot the next time the sink breaks.

Klara: Who’s Grandma’s precious little one? Oh, who? I was worried I wouldn’t manage, but with Level 10 Parenting and the Role Model trait, it’s going well! You know, back in my day, babies went straight from a bassinet to being toddlers. I have no experience with these tiny bobo Sims like you. And even earlier, way back, they aged straight into school kids from bassinets. Those were craaaazy days…

The next day, the whole family gathered for Harvestfest.

Penny: Smells like a delicious fish dish.

Piotr: Yuki’s not coming—she’s celebrating with her family.

Klara: Hmm… let’s hope this isn’t déjà vu…

Anna: Look what Maja can do now!

Klara: Oh wow, she’s crawling already?! Twitter said these milestones take forever! Your daughter must be exceptional!

Penny: I think she gets that from the Richards side, right, little one?

Anna: Alright, everyone, dinner is ready—even for you, sweetie.

Anna: Today we’re trying something new. Since you can sit in your cool new high chair, here’s some applesauce. Great!

…Oh no! No, don’t play with the food you spit out! Haha, oh well, we’ll get there.

Penny: Oh, Maxis, this place feels like paradise. Back in Windenburg, it’s nearly freezing. It’ll probably snow in the next few days.

Anna's Sister (Dorota): I heard you got a new job—congrats!

Filip: Thanks, I start Monday.

Akito: Taking down the Original One was a big step, but it’s not over yet. There are still many vampires out there.

Piotr: Don’t worry, Dad, I’ve got it covered.

Klara: Look, Maja, that’s your uncle Piotr.

Maja: A-gu?

Piotr: She’s adorable! Makes me want to have a little one myself!

Akito: Did I hear that right? Looks like I might be a grandpa again soon.

Klara: It’s high time both our sons settled down.

And, of course, the family photo is a must!
