29. THE ONE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE 4 PICS OF WINTERFEST

Winterfest in Windenburg is already a tradition, only one time the Drozds spent it somewhere else.

Jace: Blue decorations will be more fitting.

Maja: But gold ones will be more interesting.

Filip: And do you know who will visit us today?

Bas: No... Who?

Filip: Father Winter, of course.

Bas: Grandpa, Father Winter doesn't exist. There's no scientific evidence for that.

Filip: Did you tell the kid that Father Winter doesn't exist?

Jace: It wasn't us, he must have read it somewhere.

But when the family sat down at the table, Father Winter actually showed up, much to Bastian's shock.

The next day the family spent playing in the snow, mostly because you won't find such attractions in San Sequoia. Bastian even enjoyed throwing snowballs, although he's not normally into physical activities.

But he liked making snowmen much more.

Bas: Mom, can we take Mr. Punk home?

Maja: I'm afraid he'll melt.

Bas: Don't be sad Mr. Punk, you'll be better off here, and maybe we'll meet again next year?

Bas: I didn't know chess was so hard.

Filip: It teaches logical thinking.

Bas: It's like computer games! Mommy sometimes lets me play Blickblock, but I'd like to play more difficult games!

Bas: Grandpa, how did you know that Father Winter would visit us?

Filip: I didn't really know, but I believed. Sometimes in life you have to believe in something, even if it seems unrealistic. It is faith and imagination that open the door to extraordinary things.

Bas: But what if others say something is impossible?

Filip: If everyone only thought about what is possible now, the inventions that change the world would never come about. Without faith and imagination, the world would be a very boring place.

Filip: Maybe one day you'll discover or do something extraordinary. But for that, you need to believe in your ideas, even the craziest ones. And in yourself.

Maja: You sure we can go?

Filip: Go, go and have fun. Bas and I are having a great time here.

Bas: Grandpa taught me how to play chess!

Maja: That's great, honey!

Anna: Did he teach you how to win too, or only how to loose?

So Bas stayed with his grandparents and uncles, and they spent a great Froodage Lang Syne together.

While Maja and Jace finally had a chance to go a little wild. They hadn't done that in a long time.

Countdown to midnight... 3, 2, 1...

Jace: Happy New Year, honey!

The couple next to them was celebrating too 🤭

[And by the way, it was already a very adult son of Zoe Patel (Klara's friend) and Nicolas, together with his wife. From news, they recently had a daughter ;)]

Maja: It's so beautiful here! I've lived in warm worlds my whole life. I didn't know snow could be so picturesque.

Jace: Do you regret it?

Maja: Uh, no. But next time we can go on vacation to a snowy land. Just for a change.
