38. HOLIDAY ADVENTURES

"Hey, how are you? You won't believe this, but my parents took me to Batuu as a birthday present! I know what you're all thinking, but I've been dreaming about it for a long time and it was really cool! Besides, despite its bad reputation, Batuu has very few bugs!

Our first day we ate at the famous Oga’s Cantina. And we met some locals. All kinds of locals. Unfortunately, my mom couldn't get along with one of them and we had to change location for a while.

We explored all 3 districts. I saw the Millennium Falcon, and the Tie Echelon, and even a Resistance X-Wing! Dad was thrilled, as was I. Mom, not so much. She wouldn't let us spend the night in the woods in tents with the Resistance, and we had to go back to Black Spire Outpost.

Before we returned from woods, I tried to convince Vi Moradi to give me a mission, but I clearly didn't gain her trust. But don't think that discouraged me!

Next day, while eating at Docking Bay 7, I thought it was ok to be back at Black Spire Station. I don't really know where the Resistance gets their food from, but maybe it's better not to know. Luckily, Batuu has Simternet, so mom could update her followers, and I could join a mission in MySims Go!

Speaking of missions, I finally managed to gain enough trust from a member of the Resistance to get my first assignment. Of course, I was immediately frisked by the First Order Stormtroopers. Luckily, they let me go without a hitch and I managed to complete my first mission!

Of course, I decided to furtherly support the Resistance and was given another mission. This time, the task was more complicated! I had to hack a First Order transmission tower. Of course, I caught the attention of Stormtroopers, again. And again, they let me go - beginner's luck, I guess!

I made another attempt when it was already dark, to hide better. This time no one stopped me. The Resistance was very pleased with my results! My reputation increased and I got my first lightsaber!

I practiced a bit, but mom wouldn't let me fight with anyone. Maybe next time.

Mom wanted to go back, but I had to do 3 more things before going home.

Point one - visit the Batuu caves. Checked!

Point two - buy my own droid. Checked!

Point three - play Sabacc. Checked! Maybe next time I'll play with the leader of the Scoundrels himself - Hondo Ohnaka?

Can't wait to come back here next year!

The rest of the vacation I spent with my grandparents in Windenburg. I like spending time with them, they always come up with something funny. They let me name the newborn puppies - do you know they are Marshmallow's granddaughters??! I named them Oreo and Coco.

I wanted to finally finish the Grim Reaper's mission, so I caught up on learning skills. Grandpa didn't want me to be stuck in books all the time, but I like it!

The house is full of photos of Grandpa from his youth. Sometimes it's hard to believe he was once as young as I am. He was a scout and had his own group of friends, just like ours.

Grandpa finally talked me into going for a bike ride around the neighborhood. And I have to admit, it wasn't that bad. I found a really interesting spot and played a really exciting game of chess with a decent-looking townie.

But the most exciting event this summer was seeing the death flower bloom! I was so close to making Ambrosia. But I had to catch a new Angel Fish because I couldn't imagine frying my little Angelito who was waiting for me at home.

For completing all the aspirations as a child, I could easily buy a potion of youth. And finally there it was - Ambrosia! I couldn't believe I actually did it!

On Simland Day, Grandpas helped me with a special party for spirits, because what's better way to celebrate such an achievement? But it wasn't easy for them, it turned out that they both had fear of death. I never thought about it. It was very impressive that they agreed to such an event despite this.

Marshmallow appeared first, how good it was to see her! A dear old doggy lady. Then other spirits showed up. Among them great-grandpa Akito and great-grandma Klara! I must admit that if it weren't for the photos, I probably wouldn't remember them. For grandpa Filip, it was a very moving meeting.

Eventually, Grim showed up too. He was so pleased with my accomplishments that he even offered me a job, but I politely declined. That's completely not my cup of tea, I prefer more down-to-earth activities. Those from a distant galaxy are also an option, but the afterlife is too much.

Marshmallow made up for lost time with her children and met her little granddaughters. Can I write about dogs like that? I guess I can, right? Because they are her dog granddaughters, so how else?

As I mentionned, Grandpa Filip was afraid of death. Finally he talked to Grim about it. He thought I didn't hear, but I heard all... And didn't like it. They were talking about some list on slablet and that Grandpa was at the very top of it. You already know what that means, right? I understood too.

Grim made it clear to me that I had to choose. There was only one serving of Ambrosia.

Marshmallow must have sensed my sadness (ghost's superpower??). She showed me how beautiful her Afterlife is (that must be another superpower) and that she doesn't feel the need to come back. She's happy about time spent with her family and that she thanks me for it, but it's no longer her place.

Then she said goodbye to the other dogs and disappeared. It was the final grand gesture of sacrifice of our faithful doggy. I will never forget it.

I still had to talk to grandpa. I had to admit that I had heard everything. He was not happy with this turn of events, he said that it should not be my concern. But in the end he agreed to accept my gift.

Because you see, Ambrosia can not only revive the dead, but it can also simply extend the life of a living Sim. I know that the potion of youth itself has this effect, but Ambrosia is definitely more powerful. As you can see, everything ended well, although completely differently than I had planned.

I didn't go home alone, Oreo decided to join me. So I made a new friend. I can't wait to show you her. She's really funny puppy! I'm including all the photos, otherwise you probably wouldn't believe the whole story!

And how did you spend the summer break? Do you believe that in 2 days we will all meet and be high school students? I have already read the first volume of Robotics! Although I don't think they will teach this in high school... Anyway, talk to you soon!
