53. JACE

Maja: Aaaaaaa! Leave me alone! Help! Somebody help me!

Olive: Calm down! He won’t hurt you! He’s new, he doesn’t even know what’s happening to him. But it’ll pass soon.

Maja: WHAT??? HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?!



Olive: It’s possible this is his first transformation. Or one of the first. The fury is strong but short, he’ll calm down soon. I think he’s already starting to settle. And I think he recognized you. That’s probably why he tried to grab you.



Maja: But why would he recognize me?! I don’t know any monster!

Olive: He’s not a monster! He’s just a young werewolf! Very lost, confused, and unaware that he might hurt someone. He’ll definitely need a lot of help.



4 days earlier

The task from Estella Landgraab - photographing the Goths' Cotillion - was supposed to start a day later, a small miscommunication between him and Estella that cost him being absent from an important event in Maja’s life - the Starlight Accolades, which Jace was just about to miss. 



Good thing both events were in the same city. But Del Sol Valley was a huge city, much bigger than San Sequoia. By the time Jace reached Starlight Boulevard, it was already late, the ceremony was probably already over. Or just ending. Jace was hoping he could at least catch the very end.



But, the taxi dropped him off 2 streets from Studio PBP, near the Chez Llama restaurant. He said, he couldn’t get closer because the area was packed with celebrity limos and paparazzi during such an event. He could already see Studio PBP from here, 10 minutes and he should be there. Stupid taxi driver.



Maja didn’t pick up his call, maybe she was just accepting an award, maybe he could still make it, late as hell, but still. He only had to walk through the park.



Werewolf: Grrrrr...

Jace: What the...?!

Werewolf: Kill! Destroy! Grrrr!



Werewolf: AUUUUUU!!!



Jace: What... what was that? What the Plumbob... I think I’ll lie down here for a moment.



Some time later.

Jace: Where am I, what’s happening to me? I can’t remember anything. And my head hurts so much.



Even more later.

Jace: What’s going on here? I feel like... days have passed???? Is that even possible? OMW, I’m so hungry. Wait... isn’t this the Project SimStyle Studio? I think I hear music, maybe Maja will be here...

I'm free to be the greatest here tonight, the greatest...



Jace: Is it... a full moon? AUUUUU!!! Oh no, I don’t feel well...



Jace: Aaaaaaa!!! AUUUUU!!!!



Jace: Grrr... Maja!



Present moment.

Olive: I don’t know who he is to you, but I’m 100% sure I hear him repeating your name.

Maja: How do you know all of this?!



Olive: It’s a pretty long story. Actually, it’s the story of my family. I’m only the second generation untouched by the werewolf curse.

Maja: But who could that be?

Olive: We’ll find out soon...



Werewolf: Maja...?



Maja: Oh My Watcher! JACE! 

Jace: Maja...



Jace: What happened? I can’t remember anything!

Maja: The important thing is that you’re ok.

Jace: But how did I end up here? Last thing I remember is some creature attacking me, then I think I wandered around the city for a while. And... OMW, I think I attacked someone too! Maja, I think I hurt someone!



Maja: You turned into a werewolf and really scared all of us, but it’s okay now. You’re just Jace again. And I don’t think you hurt anyone, definitely no one here. Everything will be fine now.



Olive: Actually... it won’t be. It’s a curse. There is a cure, but it’s too late for that now. The cure has to be taken before the first full moon transformation. And today is the full moon, and Jace has already transformed. I’m afraid he’ll be a werewolf... forever.



Maja: But forever? He’ll always be a monster???

Olive: A werewolf. And he can learn to live with it, control the wolf instincts, and manage the transformations. It will take a lot of work, but it’s possible. My family has been dealing with it for generations.



Olive: Go to Moonwood Mill and find Kristopher Volkov. Tell him you were sent by the Harrison family. He’ll help you. He’ll teach Jace everything a wolf needs to know. A well-controlled werewolf gene can be a gift, not just a curse. Good luck.



Maja: Hey, we’ll be fine. The most important thing is that we’re together.

Maja: Stop complaining, let’s go. We need to find Volkov.

Chronicles of Del Sol Valley Izi's parents decided to take a break from the hustle of an ordinary city and went to an extraordinary city, full of celebrities on every corner.
