55. PRACTICE MAKES WEREWOLF
Kristopher promised to help Jace learn to tame the wolf within—enough so that Jace would be able to keep it together during the next full moon.
Kristopher: We don’t have much time. There’s a lot you need to learn. But don’t worry—I’ll help you become a full-fledged werewolf in just a few days. First, though, you need to read a few books.
Jace: Did you know that werewolves have a close bond with dogs? It’s actually starting to feel less scary. Maybe I’ll be able to understand Hunter and Oreo now.
Maja: Let’s focus on managing your Fury first. Then you can start decoding "Barklish."
So, Jace dove into the books Kristopher recommended. But at first, they felt like the same old werewolf stories—full moons, wolf packs, alpha leaders. He knew all of that already. Still, he trusted Kristopher had his reasons, so he kept reading.
He was just about to give up when he began noticing strange markings in the margins—Moon Glyphs. That’s when it clicked. This was the knowledge he was meant to uncover. He has begun to understand what being a werewolf really meant.
Jace: It says here that joining a pack can help me manage myself better. The Moonwood Collective wants to keep a good reputation and live in harmony with regular Sims.
Maja: That sounds amazing!
Jace: Yeah. I think things are going to be okay.
Maja was slowly warming up to Jace’s new wild and wolfish nature. His diplomatic approach was working—as long as he didn’t try to charm anyone else with it. And somewhere along the way, Maja discovered her new Lovebug trait.
Later, Kristopher invited them to his home, where they met his adopted son, Jacob, and his roommate, Lily Zhu. Jace shared the story of his transformation.
Eventually, Maja returned home, but Kristopher offered Jace a place to stay the night—and continue his training.
Jace: All my senses are on overdrive! And I’m constantly hungry. It’s really hard to stay in control.
Kristopher: If you lose control, you lose yourself. Something else takes over. Pay attention to how your Temperaments affect the beast inside you, and do your best to maintain control.
Lily: Kristopher, aren’t you forgetting something?
Kristopher: Ah, you’re right, Lily. Jace—I officially grant you the title of Friend of the Moonwood Collective. At least until you’re ready to fully join.
Only Jacob seemed unconvinced…
Kristopher finally showed his human form. Soon the real training began. Jace still had more reading to do, but now the Moon Glyphs were easier to decipher, and he was uncovering secrets and wisdom faster. He also started exploring the underground tunnels in search of a hidden chamber with carvings about the origins of werewolves.
Eventually, his trial began. Jace faced three challenges: discuss lunar epiphany, demonstrate scavenging, and give a rare collectable he had found in the forest.
He passed with flying colors.
Kristopher: You’ve matured into a true wolf. You’ve completed all the trials. But before we go any further, I have to ask—do you accept the values of the Moonwood Collective? Supporting one another, representing werewolves honorably, and managing our shared resources responsibly?
Jace: That sounds great! I’m in.
Kristopher: Excellent. Even though you’ve gained control over your Fury, remember—your Temperaments will still push it higher. Be especially mindful of your latest one. Challenging social norms might get you into trouble. Don’t let yourself get provoked.
Kristopher: Now that we’re clear—welcome to the pack. You’re officially our Omega.
Jace: Thank you. For everything.
Kristopher: Good luck! And visit us sometime, brother.
Jace: Sweetheart, I’m back. I missed you so much. You’re the most important thing in my life. It was my love for you that gave me the strength to tame my inner beast. Thank you for staying by my side through all of this.
Maja: Always. You know my heart belongs to you. Only you.
They spent the rest of the night exploring their Temperaments... together.
