10. I WANT SOMETHING JUST LIKE THIS

Last uni term. Boys rent now a flat so Rob can live with them. After winning his final SimScuffle match, Bas handed over the Captain title to give someone else a chance to shine, and wrapped up his eSports chapter. Now he’s got a little more free time for things like early morning jogs.

Of course, he’s still active in the Bot Savants and recently unlocked the Aspirational Thinker perk thanks to his efforts there. He also found time for some guest lectures in the Engineering field. And there’s still the Brainiacs club. He recruited new members, it didn’t even take him much convincing. Those two girls seemed ready to join... possibly in more ways than one.

But for now, Bastian has another date lined up through Cupid's Corner, this time with Maya Poise (from the Gallery, though I accidentally didn’t screenshot who created her and lost the contact). In any case... let’s see if Bas' streak of bad luck continues on this date.

He started off with a compliment, probably about her smile. Judging by her reaction, though, it could be also a compliment about her teeth. Either way, Bas quickly learned that Maya is an Unflirty Sim.

Things didn’t get much better later. They barely had anything in common.

Occasionally the conversation flowed, but it became more and more obvious to Bas that there wasn’t much connecting them.

Still, he didn’t give up and made a move to dance. I honestly thought it would be a disaster… but no! Maya actually liked it and took the lead! There was a small glimmer of hope for this date.

And then unfortunately... Bas started asking questions. Only Watcher knows why. Like does Maya find him attractive.

Maya: If you must know, no, I don’t find you attractive at all.

Bas: Then why are you even flirting with me?

Maya: I haven’t slept with anyone in a while, and you seemed... nice.

That was it.

Bas: Hello? Rom? What? The whole bathroom’s flooded? Got it, I’m on my way. Sorry, I have to go. My roommate just called, we’ve got a burst pipe in the bathroom.

Maya: Wow. You're quite a llama, aren't you? Maybe you’re not as nice as you seemed. Don’t call me. Sayonara!

Another student joined the Brainiacs. Bas still didn't think of asking out one of the "Brainiacs girls". But they are waiting patiently, both clearly have their eye on him. If this next Cupid's Corner date doesn’t work out, maybe it’s time to try something more... traditional.

Meanwhile, Bas starts to get job offers, it's his last term, after all. One was for a Tech Guru role, which sounded great, but not exactly what Bas wants to do as a job. He’s still got some time to figure things out. For now, he’s focused on Cupid’s Corner — third time’s the charm, right?

*Anna is apparently related to Paul Robles, and Bas doesn’t want to complicate things with his friend.

**Balbina lives in Strangerville, judging by the background, and that’s a bit too far, not to mention too weird for now. I don't want any Strangerville story for now. Although she's cute...

***So that leaves Sofia, another Gallery Sim, and probably from Chestnut Ridge. Distance-wise, it's ok.

This time, Bas started with a compliment again, but it went much better. Sofia seemed genuinely pleased and interested in getting to know Bas. And then, the turning point, she started talking about video games on her own!

She even suggested they play on the arcade machine. And they won!

Bas: You’re good at this! Do you play often?

Sofia: Sometimes.

Bas: Should I know anything else about you?

Sofia: Well, there’s still a lot to discover.

The mood turned romantic, and Bas took it a step further, suggesting they stargaze together. But the date was slowly coming to an end...

Sofia: I don’t want to go home just yet. How about a little walk?

So they went. For a walk, obviously.

Rob: Judging by your straight posture, confident walk, and sparkling eyes... I deduce you made sweet WooHoo with a lovely lady Sim. All signs point to yes.

Bas: Why did I even ask…

Rob: Well, now you look sad. Maybe I was wrong after all?

Bas: For Maxis’ sake…

But soon, the whole household met Sofia, and it became very clear why Bas was walking on air.

Rom wasn’t complaining either. Things were going well with Cristian, who stopped by to visit every now and then.

But one night, Romuald got abducted by aliens! Luckily, he was returned quickly and without any “extra-terrestrial bundles of joy.” 😄
