9. LET THE FORCE BE WITH YOU
Utili Bot Competition. The final university event before the summer break.
Bas won it this time too, earning a promotion to Experienced Member of the Bot Savants, as well as unlocking the Tech Guru lifestyle.
Atlas, of course, was flirting with someone again. Seriously, the guy falls in love every five minutes.

Since most of the crew is finishing their studies, they had to take a Bot Savants group photo, for memory’s sake. Bas and Alicia will need to recruit new members in the fall.
Then came one last visit to the library, archiving part of his knowledge for future generations, and, of course, a farewell photo with the Brainiacs, since here too, most of them won’t be around after the holidays.
At last, Bas and Atlas arrived on Batuu, and were immediately assigned a new mission.
Vi Moradi: We need to disrupt the First Order’s tracking systems and create a diversion with the X-Wing. My contacts say you can be trusted, but I’ll be the judge of that. Let’s see what you’re made of.
Atlas was both overwhelmed and delighted by basically everything he saw. He and Rob Bot handled the distraction while Bas hacked into the First Order systems. Everything went surprisingly smoothly.
Atlas: I thought you should have helmets.
Stormtrooper: New orders from EA headquarters.
After repairing the X-Wing, they set out on their mission to create a diversion and help Vi Moradi secure essential supplies. Following the success of this operation, Bastian was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in the Resistance.
More missions followed, including ones to the local villagers. The team managed to earn the trust of the people of Surabat by discrediting the First Order. Even the authorities in Galma agreed to cooperate.
Their next assignment was to track down an informant. He tasked Bas with retrieving a prototype of the First Order’s latest weapon—a blaster rifle. Once again, Atlas and Rob handled the distraction.
The diversion worked perfectly. Bas cracked the security codes and opened the supply crate with the prototype weapon. In exchange, the informant provided security codes to the First Order’s command center. Bas confirmed their validity. Mission accomplished.
Not all missions went this smoothly. Sometimes Bas was caught, forced to fight his way out, and then run.
Sometimes, though, he just got lucky. Like here, when the distraction failed, only to be saved by a sudden spark of romance between two guards. Who knew they had hearts?
Atlas also excelled at recruiting new Resistance members. Like when he flirted with a Batuuan citizen, earned his trust, and left Bas with just the technical explanation to finish the job.
They made a great team, and Bas had to admit, this was way more fun than last time with his parents.
On their next mission, they had to locate a deserter, who handed over key info about the First Order’s plans. When Rey reviewed the data, she promoted Bas to the Specialist rank, and immediately gave him a new task.
This time, he had to infiltrate the heart of the First Order’s base...
Atlas: Are you sure about this? This mission sounds really dangerous.
Bas: That’s why your distraction needs to be extra effective. But first, preparations.
They managed to bribe a guard to get a uniform, and after winning a game of Sabaac with Hondo Ohnaka, he handed them a forged ID.
Bas: Everyone knows their part? Then let’s begin.
Bas infiltrated the base, and quickly secured the plans. Just when he thought it was a success, a First Order officer appeared out of nowhere. Thankfully, the forged ID worked, and Bas passed the scan. Phew...

Next up: rescuing an important Resistance scientist. Preparation was key, so Bas installed new components into his droid. And of course, nothing beats a bit of combat training with Rey herself. He left for the mission with Vi Moradi and Chewbacca.
Rescuing the scientist earned Bas a Sergeant rank. But for the next and most critical mission, Bas would have to go alone.
He had to destroy the jamming relay mounted inside a TIE Echelon, and wipe all the schematics. The decoy droid did its job perfectly, and Bas sent the relay up in flames.
Then, Bas returned to the First Order base to retrieve the decoy droid. A risky move that could’ve cost him. Luckily, by now, he was skilled in combat. Time to escape.
Back at the Resistance camp, everyone was celebrating the mission's success. Bas also completed his Resistance aspiration.
Time for the crew to return home.
At least... until the next mission. ;)
