47. LA VIE EN ROSE (2)
It was almost time for Ollie to head back to Chestnut Ridge, and she still had soooo much stuff to do in Ciudad Enamorada, mostly for her aspiration, which the Watcher completely forgot about. Nettie still followed her steps, not understanding that Ollie genuinely didn’t have time to play with her.
For example, today she had another date with Diego. It was Cookie Day, so he brought her a box of cream puffs. Honestly, all his little ideas were ridiculously charming, and Ollie felt like she was living inside a romance movie. So when he invited her to prom, she agreed without even hesitating.
With Ollie gone most of the time, Nettie redirected all her attention toward her little brother, who absolutely adored her and was completely fascinated by everything she did.

Nettie: Ollie! You back! Gonna pway dolls wif me now?
Olimpia: Oh no, I’m starving and exhausted. Maybe tomorrow? I just came in to put our little brother to bed. Wait… did he just blow me a kiss? Since when can you do that, little mister?
Cyp: Buttehfly.
Olimpia: You can talk now too?! No way. Ok, little butterfly, bedtime. You too, Nettie.
Nettie: Why you no wanna pway? I was good girl.
Olimpia: It’s not about that, I’m just tired, and it’s really late… Oh my Watcher!!! Nessy-Messy! What did you eat? Ew. I thought you grew out of that already. Terrible smell! I’m outta here. Goodnight.
The pure essence of motherhood.
You can admire your big sister and want to play with her all the time, sure. But mom is still mom. And when mom goes potty, that obviously means you have to go with her… preferably while throwing in a tiny emotional breakdown too.
Nettie: Mommy, why Ollie got no time?
Laura: No time?
Nettie: Yeah… I ask an’ ask for pwaytime, but she always got no time.
Laura: Oh, sweetheart. Ollie’s a big girl now, and she has lots of big-girl things to do. When you’re older, you’ll have your own busy day too.
Nettie: But den I not gonna pway anymore eider...
And somehow, that’s how those few days together passed by. Nettie took full advantage of still being little and getting to play all the time. Cyp was learning how to walk and trying all kinds of new food, though he somehow disliked literally everything despite not even having the Picky Eater quirk.
And Ollie did eventually make some time for her siblings and finally played with Nettie. In all the chaos, they almost missed the fact that little Cyp had just managed to stand up in his crib all by himself.
Even Laura and Bastian managed to find a little time for each other.
Laura was getting tons of gigs lately. Even previous clients kept coming back to her. Mrs. Zhu wanted to renovate her guest room.
Laura: So, what kind of style are you looking for?
Mrs. Zhu: Oh sweetheart, just do whatever you think looks good. I only like blue, green, and reading.
Mrs. Zhu absolutely loved the results. The neglected room finally felt warm and cozy again.
Manuel Aguilar didn’t want too many changes. He definitely wanted to keep the red color palette and include elements inspired by his hobby, mixology. So Laura leaned into a sleek modern design.
Jess Sigworth wanted to redesign kid room. She listed styles she liked: Contemporary, Luxe, and Cosmoluxe. And while Laura did stick to them, the final result got a mixed reaction.
Jess: I thought there’d be less pink and more orange...
Christie: Mom, what are you talking about? It looks AMAZING!
Good thing at least the kid liked it!
Laura’s renos were featured on the TV show Best Renovations of the Year!
Meanwhile, Bas was working on a new invention, an experimental cleaning motivation device. Unfortunately, the thing completely failed to meet his expectations. Frustrated, he went to play video games.
Elena actually managed to convince Ollie’s parents to let the girls go to the Hazel & The Nuts concert in the summer. There was just one condition: Bas had to come with them and supervise to make sure everything stayed under control.
Still, Ollie was beyond excited and already counting down the days.
Spring Day finally arrived, along with the birthdays of Nettie, Cyprian, and Bastian. Nettie wasn’t entirely sure what to think about the Flower Bunny at first, but she quickly decided it was an elite cuddle buddy.
Three cakes for three Sims! Happy birthday!
In the end, I gave Nettie the Lactose Intolerant trait and the Playtime Captain aspiration.
Cyp rolled the Wild trait and instantly got the quirk where he loves being carried around.
And thankfully, Bas didn't get any quirks ;)
And here are Nettie and Cyp after aging up :) Pose by Simmerianne93
And of course, the family portrait. Pose also by Simmerianne93
Maja: And where do you think you’re going, little guy?
Cyp: Lookin’ eggs! Here are!
Nettie instantly became friends with Rom and Cristiano’s daughter, Lizzy. The girls had an amazing time together and searched for eggs all the way until late evening.
Rom: It gets easier from here now, huh?
Bas: Yeah, just a little longer and we can finally say goodbye to diapers forever.
Laura: Ugh… I feel sick.
Bas: Oh no, it’s probably those Elotes. They must’ve gone bad.
Olimpia: Are you sure that’s what this is about, Dad?
