23. ROLLERCOASTER

The unexpected test result really shook Maja up. She's not sure what to do now. She didn't want to have children, not yet, not at this point in her life. It's too early. She'd have to talk to Jace about it. And she will. But after return from their honeymoon.

On their way back, they went to Windenburg to pick up the dogs.

Maja: Thanks, granny, for taking care of them.

Klara: It was a pleasure. At least I had company and sth to do. Actually, I'd gladly keep Caramel and Toffee, if you agree.

Maja: I think they'd like that too. 

Klara: I'm glad you enjoyed the trip.

Maja: It was really wonderful.

Klara: But Maja, you look different...

Maja: What? No, not at all, I look exactly the same, grandma.

Klara: Nothing can be hidden from me. But you'll say it yourself, when you're ready.

Maja knows she needs to talk to Jace, but it's not that easy.

Jace: What was that about, at granny's place?

Maja: What?

Jace: She said you looked different.

Maja: So today, before leaving Al-Simhara, I felt bad and nauseous. And I thought it was the pizza... But it wasn't pizza...

Jace: But one doesn't exclude the other. I also didn't think it would all happen so quickly. But you'll see, we'll manage, I'll be with you all the time. We are in this together. And we will be great parents, I'm sure of it. 

In the morning, Maja is in a better mood. Maybe there's nothing to worry about? It's best to get back to work, especially since she got a job to advertise the new game console. Maybe make a video with game costumes?

But while changing outfits and recording, she felt nauseous.

Maja: Who am I trying to fool, Marshmallow? All is wrong! Why am I so sore? Pregnancy was supposed to be a beautiful state, but from the very beginning I'm swollen and feeling sick! It's awful!

...And so Maja ended up with ranting vlog (which turned out to be a great success!)

Time for medical check.

Doctor: Everything looks good. And this little point here is the head. Congratulations, he's a healthy baby boy! We still need to do some tests and then you can go home.

Maja: Blood sampling? Really? What else? OMW, let it all be over.

Nurse: Please don't stress, it will only take a moment. And that's all. The results should be available tomorrow.

[Fortunately, all results were good.]

Jace: See, wasn't that bad.

Maja: Sure, because it wasn't you who was stuck with a needle! How do other women endure it? Pregnancy is a torture.

Jace: I have an idea, I'll make you a dinner and a massage, and you can get some rest. And I'm sure, tomorrow you'll feel better.

But in the morning...

Maja: AAA!

Jace: What happened?!

Maja: I'm fat! Don't you see? I can't even get out of bed on my own! I'm fat, ugly and a loser!

Jace: That's not true. You're beautiful! And you carry our wonderful son in your belly. Hello, little one. I'm your dad, u know?

Jace: And you have the most beautiful and wonderful mom in the world.

Maja: Stop it...

Jace: And did I mention that she's also the most sexy? And I'm just about to show her how sexy she is and how much I love her.

Finally, the kids room also had to be arranged. So they went to the store and bought all needed things.

Maja: I can't believe you gave away your gym.

Jace: This will have to do for now. And with time we'll  think about something else.

The next day was the Spring Festival and Anna's birthday, so they went to Sulani. Also, a perfect moment for a surprise Baby Shower. They missed Anna's cake, but the family was too focused on Maja's condition to complain.

Klara: Ha! I knew it!

Anna: And you didn't say anything?!

Filip: If you need help, let me know. I'm retired and have plenty of time. 

Klara: I wonder what genes he'll inherit! Have you thought of a name? 

Bea: Just nothing weird. Maybe something from Little Mermaid? 

Filip: No, no! The name must be drawn!

Jace: Dear sister-in-law, what are you actually doing?

Filip: Exactly...

Anna: Beata...?

And so, although still not convinced by the idea of ​​having children, Maja finally accepted her pregnancy.

Jace: Yes, vegetarian. Here you go, it's ready.

Maja: I don't want hamburgers anymore... Maybe you could make some baked bananas instead?

Jace: Baked bananas, sure! Just don't forget later what a good husband I am.

During the night, Maja woke up to eat something, when suddenly she went into labor. Jace panicked at first, but quickly calmed down and took his role to heart.

Jace: Just breathe, inhale, exhale.

Maja: What do you think that I'm doing all the time?!

Exercises definitely sped up the whole process, but still they spent the whole night in the hospital and it was already dawn.

Maja: Can my husband accompany me during the birth?

Jace: Like... entire birth?

Maja: Yes, Jace!! If I can be there, you can too! Don't irritate me!!!

The moment has finally come. Little Sebastian was born. Name was drawn, of course. Really.

Maja took her little son in her arms and hugged him to her chest, and he immediately calmed down. In that moment Maja realized she'd always love this tiny creature and do everything for him.
