27. NEIGHBORHOOD GANG

Even though autumn was coming to an end, the days in San Sequoia were still very warm. It would be a shame not to take advantage of it.

Maja: I can't believe that in a few days, Spooky Day will be back.

Izi: Are you dressing up this year?

Maja: I think we'll skip it.

Maja: Can you believe that it was during the last Spooky Day that I started dating Jace?

Izi: Time flies. And now we're all moms.

Maja: Famous moms!

Some things don't last forever. A good appetite is just a memory. Bastian is now a picky eater.

Bastian: Bas not like it! Ugh!

Jace: Bastian! You can't throw food around!

Bastian: Bas sad! MoOOomy!

But there are also successes.

Maja: Very good! Just take off your pants and diaper next time before you sit on the potty. Oh well, you'll learn. And now it's time for bed.

At night, Bastian had his first nightmare. So he went to wake his parents. It was quite a journey for him, because he had to go down entire stairs! But he managed. Maja wonders if she also had nightmares as a toddler, but she can't remember.  

[She really can't, because all her milestones from infancy and toddlerhood have disappeared...]  

The usual morning chaos. And Maja got a message from her work colleague, Alicja, who, as it turned out, started dating their work colleague - Dominik! Alicja wrote that they adopted a toddler! The situation is a bit stressful for her, so she asked Maja for help.

Alicja: I heard that it's better to not travel now, at least to certain places.

Monika: Yes, there's some new virus going around, Error 123 or something like that.

Dominik: It's a miracle that this whole world hasn't gone to hell yet. The Watcher must be watching over us.

Alicja: The boys seem to like each other. It's great that Rom will have a friend.

Maja: Our neighbors, Jaden and Jamar, also have a daughter the same age, Laura. And Jace's friends have a son, Paul.

Alicja: That's quite a backyard gang then!

Bastian, as an Inquisitive toddler, often needs to learn something new. And if he does not learn new things for a long time, he gets into a bad mood, or even throws tantrum... Fortunately, the whole family cares about the development of this little genius.

Bas already learned to climb stairs and move to the rhythm of music. And not only that.

Bas: Mommy, my butt pooped!

Sometimes Maja can't remember what her life was like without Bastian.

Maja: ...and they lived in a distant land called Magic Town, where you could buy a real dragon.

Bas is an Early Riser. And as first thing in the morning, he wants to learn.

Maja: You should know that by now, so what do you see here?

Jace: And this is the number 9. Repeat, nine.

Maja is a bit of a child herself deep down, so playing with Bas gives her a lot of joy. She completely forgot that today is Spooky Day.. Maybe they'll dress up after all?

Maja: Great that you joined!

Dominik: You had nice idea. Let the kids get to know each other.

Laura: You're three!

Bastian: And you're sex!

Maja: OMW! He wanted to say "six"! He's just studied numbers and still confusing some words!

Laura: I want songs.

Jace: This is my doll.

Paul: He took it from me!

After such a funny AND exhausting day, it's time to take a breath.

Of course, after the Spooky Day, it came the Day of Remembrance. This year it was an exceptionally sad one.

Maja is now a 4-star celebrity and gets a lot of fan mail. Mostly very nice, which flatters her vanity. She's lucky that through some bug she didn't get more fame quirks.

 

Bas: Once 'pon a time, there was a mommy. The end.

Jace: Maybe we go now to the water park?

Bas: Look, daddy. I'm wunning. On water I'm wunning, weh-wee fast.

In the evening, the "party" moved to the Drozds' house.

Maja: Bas wants to tell us everything now. He's a terrible talker.

Bas: Fox jump, hop, hop. Don't jump, fox.

Laura: Bad fox.

Rom: Why ox jump?

It's finally the twins' birthday, Babs and Mary. The entire neighborhood kindergarten has gathered. And the twins have joined the gang.

When having fun, you never know when you'll gain new skills. Bastian has already developed his movement and imagination skills to the max.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.

Laura: I don't want go home! Laura play!

Jamar: But honey, it's late, we have to go back, look, other parents are already taking their children.

Laura: NO!

I wonder what they'll grow up to be.

There was still left studying the letters and developing max thinking. And of course, Art Appreciation. Art made a big impression on the kiddo. Maybe a little too big.

Jace: No! Bass! You can't!

Bass: Why?

Jace: Because you'll destroy it.

Bass: Why?

Maja and Bastian have a Jokester dynamic. I think it fits Maja very well, considering her childish trait and her general attitude towards life and children before.

Jace: I found the perfect house for us. The place is big enough to fit Yamachan. Bas would have a bigger room, you'd have a proper office, and I could finally have my own photography studio. The Ruanos are moving out and they've agreed to sell it to us.
